Crown Works

Crown Works —
Made in Birmingham.

Crafting a brand that speaks to the heritage of jewellery making in Birmingham, whilst looking to a contemporary future.

For those who seek industrial soul, with modern comfort.

Crown Works is at the heart of a rapidly evolving part of Birmingham. With its proximity to the Jewellery Quarter, the city centre and the Colmore business district, and with significant investment and redevelopment underway, this neighbourhood is set to become a sought-after place to live.

The area surrounding Crown Works boasts a rich history of craft and making. Once a bustling hub of manufacturing and innovation, it was home to numerous factories and workshops that fuelled the city’s economic growth during the Industrial Revolution. Landmarks and historic buildings still stand as a testament to its industrious past, providing unique character.

Made in Birmingham

Our brand draws on this rich industrial heritage, rooting Crown Works to its place and Birmingham’s history as the “Workshop of the World”. Straightforward, authentic and proud, our positioning establishes Crown Works as a central part of Birmingham’s ongoing story.

Our visual identity is inspired by jewellery hallmark stamps, drawing on the themes of craftsmanship, authenticity, and quality. This timeless motif is brought up to date with bold colours and a contemporary execution. Crown Works is heritage meets modernity.

How we created feeling

Drawing on the rich heritage of the area our approach across the brand, through the language used and photography choices we aimed to evoke a sense of ‘pride of place’ for an area of the city that has fallen out of favour over the recent past.

Our hope is through a lens of contemporary brand we have managed to reframe the area narrative, to showcase the opportunity whilst celebrating the past and most importantly move the area forward for a new community.

Our mission was to elevate a sense of pride in an area largely under valued in the recent past, changing space to place.

We've worked with Persona for several years, and their deep understanding of our market and needs is exceptional. Their creativity and quality set us apart in a competitive landscape.

The secret of the long standing relationship is shared vision.

We’ve worked with Native Communities over the last few years on multiple BTR schemes across the UK and key to this ongoing relationship and confidence to recommend us in to developers is a shared vision around creating communities with integrity. We continue to work closely with their in-house team across brand and digital projects making space into place one development at a time.
