Transformation starts with trust. Helping one of the UK's leading technology transformation partners evolve with confidence through a long-standing strategic partnership.
The partner behind the services people depend on.
FourNet helps organisations transform the customer and citizen services people rely on – across customer experience, AI, cyber and network. Founded in Manchester in 2005, the business has spent two decades behind some of the country’s most critical operations, from central government and ambulance services to regulated industries where getting it wrong carries real weight.
Building a brand worthy of the business.
When we first met FourNet in 2019, the business had already outgrown its brand.
Following a period of significant commercial success, the organisation had become one of the UK’s leading providers of cloud communications and managed technology services, but externally it still felt like a much smaller business. The visual identity lacked consistency, the messaging had become fragmented, and neither reflected the expertise, ambition or calibre of the people behind the organisation. Rather than beginning with design, we started by understanding the business itself.
Through stakeholder workshops, customer interviews, competitor research and strategic discovery, we uncovered what genuinely made FourNet different. While competitors spoke about technology, customers consistently spoke about people. They described a business that listened first, solved complex challenges collaboratively and became a trusted partner rather than simply another supplier. Those insights became the foundations of a completely new brand strategy.
The result was far more than a visual refresh. The transition from 4net to FourNet marked a new chapter for the organisation; introducing a more confident identity, a scalable brand system and a digital experience that better reflected the maturity and capability of the business.
How we created feeling
When we spoke to customers, very few talked about products or technology. Instead, they spoke about trust.
They described a business that listened before it prescribed, challenged assumptions, solved problems collaboratively and genuinely cared about delivering the right outcome. Those qualities had become FourNet’s greatest competitive advantage, yet they were almost invisible within the existing brand.
Our role wasn’t to invent a new personality; it was to reveal the one that already existed.
That insight shaped everything that followed. The brand shifted away from talking about technology in isolation and instead focused on the confidence, clarity and reassurance FourNet gives its customers as they navigate increasingly complex technological change.
Because ultimately, technology is rarely the decision people make. They choose the partner they trust to help them make the right one.
More than a rebrand. A long-term partnership.
Unlike many branding projects, our work with FourNet didn’t end at launch.
Over the past six years we’ve worked as an extension of the business, supporting the board, the Chief Marketing Officer and the wider marketing team through a retained strategic and creative partnership.
During that time FourNet has experienced sustained growth, completed multiple strategic acquisitions, expanded its capabilities and evolved into one of the UK’s leading technology transformation businesses.
Our role has evolved alongside it.
We’ve continued to develop the brand, refine messaging, create thought leadership campaigns, produce white papers, support product launches, evolve the website and help ensure every new initiative strengthens rather than dilutes the brand.
Rather than continually reinventing the identity, we’ve helped it mature; ensuring the brand has always reflected the scale, confidence and direction of the organisation.
Evolving the brand for the next chapter
As the business entered a new phase of growth, it became clear that the brand needed to evolve once again. The latest evolution isn’t about changing who FourNet is. It’s about expressing the business with greater clarity and confidence.
The visual identity has been refined with a lighter, more contemporary design language and a suite of dynamic graphic assets that represent movement, connection and transformation. The messaging has become more focused, shifting the conversation away from technology alone and towards the strategic outcomes FourNet enables for its customers.
Today the brand better reflects the role FourNet plays: helping organisations adapt, transform and confidently embrace what’s next in an increasingly complex world.
The Ripple effect of Transformation.
At the heart of the evolved identity is the Ripple, the visual expression of how FourNet creates change. Transformation rarely arrives all at once. It starts with a single action, insight or improvement and spreads outward. A better experience lifts employee performance. Greater efficiency creates capacity for innovation. Stronger security builds confidence and resilience. Each outcome creates momentum for the next, and the Ripple captures that movement as a consistent thread running through the whole brand.
We extended the idea into a rippled photography treatment, a subtle, glass-like distortion applied to FourNet’s imagery that brings depth and energy while keeping every shot instantly recognisable as theirs. Used with restraint, it ties the photography back to the wider identity and makes the brand feel ownable across every touchpoint.
I cannot recommend Persona highly enough. I've been doing Marketing roles for 25 years plus and delivering website projects since 2002, ranging from huge corporate builds through to sites for start-ups, and I would rate Persona above any agency I've worked with.
A system built to flex.
To give the brand structure as well as movement, we created the Dynamic Framing System: a set of angular shapes that radiate from a central point, taking the energy of the Ripple and translating it into a practical design device. It can frame photography, hold colour, highlight content or build hierarchy, and its modular nature allows endless compositions while keeping everything unmistakably FourNet.
The strongest brands aren't built in a single project. They Evolve.
Our relationship with FourNet demonstrates exactly how we like to work.
By building long-term partnerships rather than one-off projects, we’re able to help brands adapt as markets change, businesses grow and ambitions evolve.
Six years on, the strategic foundations established during our original discovery process are still guiding the brand today. The identity has matured. The messaging has evolved. The business has transformed. And we’re proud to still be helping shape what comes next.
